These days, no one can get by without electricity and a whole host of home appliances to make their lives easier. Every Etobicoke real estate contains at least the basics, which can represent a considerable expense to anyone who has just bought a property where no appliances are included. If you're standing in the middle of your empty home and wondering what you're going to need to make it livable, here's a list of the must-have appliances that you'll need just to get through the days.

Fridge and Freezer

In many places throughout the world, people get by with only small fridges or no fridges because they buy the day's food on the way home from work. Here in North America, however, we are often rushing home to our Markham real estate and don't have the time, so we must buy large orders of food and store it until we need it. That means refrigerating or freezing it, especially with meats. Therefore a fridge and freezer (many homes have both in one appliance) is a necessity. Full sizes fridges generally cost at least $500.

Stove

For those of us who want to cook our own food in our Toronto condo, an oven and stove combination is absolutely essential. Ranges, whether gas or electric, allow us to fry, boil, and steam food while the oven is great for baking, reheating, broiling, and pouching. While you could survive with only a microwave, an oven and stove will go a long way to making your food more enjoyable to eat. Most apartments come with fridges and stoves, but for those that don't, you're looking at an investment of $600 at the minimum for a stand-alone range/oven combination.

Washer and Dryer

For many people who live in apartments, in-unit washers and dryers are a luxury. Instead, they do their laundry down the street at the Laundromat or in the basement where the communal coin operated machines are. However if you own London, Ontario houses and you've got dogs and kids and a full life, you don't have time to schlep your laundry down the road. You need to be able to wash and dry it at home. For a regular sized washer dryer pairing, you're looking at spending at least $1,000.

Microwave

You can get by without a stove if you at least have a microwave to heat up your food. Microwaved food isn't as crispy and tasty as baked food, but it's at least hot. Microwaves are also great for reheating leftovers, defrosting meat, and cooking foods like frozen dinners in a hurry. For that reason, almost every person who owns Oshawa real estate has one. You can buy a microwave for as little as $30.
